West Vancouver Vital Signs Report 2021/22

On behalf of West Vancouver Foundation, Mustel Group conducted research among residents living in the municipality of West Vancouver to measure the vitality of the community, identify significant trends, examine issues and areas that are critical to the quality of life in West Vancouver, and to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 200 interviews were conducted by telephone among a random sample of West Vancouver residents, 18 years of age and over, as well as 357 online surveys completed by West Vancouver and other area residents opting into the survey.

About this survey:
A total of 200 interviews were conducted by telephone among a random sample of West Vancouver residents, 18 years of age and over, as well as 357 online surveys completed by West Vancouver and other area residents opting into the survey.

Telephone Survey

A random telephone survey was conducted among residents within the District using a combination of an up-to-date landline listing of households and cell numbers within the District. Up to 6 calls to the selected household/individual to minimize potential bias due to non-response, and matching the sample (gender, age, area of residence) to the most recent Statistics Canada data for West Vancouver.

The margin of error for this component is +/-7.1% at the 95% level of confidence.

Interviewing was conducted from November 24th to December 15th, 2021.

Online Survey

An open link to a web survey was distributed by the Foundation.

The margin of error is +/5.2% at the 95% level of confidence (as online surveys are considered non-probability, margin of error estimates are provided as a guide only).

Access to the online survey was from December 1st, 2021, to January 17th, 2022.
